Summary

Chaitanyamoy Ganguly earned BE(Matallurgical Engineering) degree (1968) from Bengal Engineering College, University of Calcutta and joined the Training school of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Trombay, Mumbai to obtain his graduation. He then joined the Radiometallurgy Division (RMD) of BARC (1969) and served there (1969-95). Ganguly was the Head of Radiometallurgy Division, BARC (1986-95) and Director of the Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI), Kolkata (1995-98). He was promoted to “Distinguished Scientist” in 2002.

Academic and Research Achievements:

Ganguly played a key role in setting up the plutonium fuels laboratory at the Radio metallurgy Division. He was responsible for manufacturing stainless steel clad plutonium oxide fuel for the ‘PURNIMA’ research reactor at BARC.

Other Contributions:

Dr Ganguly is recognized as an international expert on nuclear fuels and fuel cycle, in general, and thermal and fast reactor fuels technology in particular.

Awards and Honours:

Among the several honours and prizes that he received are the National Metallurgists Day Award, Binani Gold Medal, Kamani Gold Medal, the Vasvik Award and the Indian Nuclear Society Award. Ganguly was awarded the Padma Shri (2002). He is also a Fellow of Indian Academy of Science, Bangalore; National Academy of Sciences (India), Allahabad; Indian National Academy of Engineering, New Delhi; Indian Institute of Metals; Indian Institute of Engineers and Indian Institute of Ceramics.

Jyothi Reddy is an academician par excellence. With over 19 years of experience in the field of education, she has successfully taken on various roles. A teacher, a counsellor, a principal and  various leadership and management roles have all come under her gambit.
A transformational leader, she is  known to create  a unique identity for the organizations she works with. Handling organization management activities for educational institutions is her expertise. She worked with Oakridge International  School  for 10 years in different roles and currently took over as the Director, Education, Delhi School of Excellence group.

As an academician, she has several awards and accomplishments to her credit. A rank holder in Humanities from the University of Kakatiya, she has won the World Education Award in August 2015 for a project under Global Collaborative Learning and was invited as a key speaker in the World Education Summit. She was also awarded   the Cambridge Academic achievement award  for the guidance  and efforts put in  to secure commendable results and a student also  achieved the world topper rank in the IGCSE exams. She has also won the UttamPuraskar Award for School Principals. She headed the Design for Change Global Contest  and won the Change Maker Award. Jyothi Reddy’s love for reading and literature also saw her win the the prestigious Devulapalli Krishnasashtry memento for Telugu poetry.
Her areas of expertise and training include Situational Leadership from the Blanchard group and Coaching skills – a UK based training program. She is trained in Problem Based Learning methodology from the National College of Singapore. She has conducted various workshops and training sessions for teachers on Class room Management, Time management, Team Work, Goal Setting, Leadership, Professionalism, ,Behavioural Problems and Motivational Techniques. She has also designed several service learning programmes, student counselling programmes  and  school leadership Programmes.
Her empathy and special interest in women and children has seen her being actively involved in Community Service Programs. She believes in holistic education and has been a huge influence in motivating her students to put in their time and effort for the less fortunate and  other worthy causes.
She is involved in various community service programmes like awareness programmes for farmers, causes that help the needy and elderly, creating life income for physically handicapped people, addressing the water problem in housing colonies, creating restroom facilities in government schools, conducting personality development training for poor students and counselling sessions for village women.
In her leisure, Jyothi Reddy loves reading, listening to music, participating in community service programmes and spending quiet time in the lap of the nature.
